Jose (Joe) Lino DeLaCruz Jr 74, of Abilene passed away Tuesday February 22, 2022, in Abilene.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette, Abilene, TX 79602. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Monday, February 28, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 US HWY 277 S., Abilene, TX 79606. A Rosary will follow from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
Jose (Joe) DeLaCruz was born in Roscoe, Texas to Jose Lino DeLaCruz Sr and Manuela (Villa) DeLaCruz.
Jose was a hard-working family man who put them first before anything else. Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball, ending his career he soon got married to the love of his life Cruz (Delora) DeLaCruz on April 16, 1966, in Abilene, TX. He began working the one job he enjoyed the most, and that was being the milk man for Bordans, retiring after 37 years. Jose will be remembered for being a loving husband, great dad, an awesome grandfather, wonderful brother, and a great friend.
Left to cherish his memories, a loving wife of 55 years, Cruz (Delora) DeLaCruz of Abilene; daughter Amanda Rodriguez of Abilene; son Jose Lino DeLaCruz III (Jessica) of Abilene; brothers Henry (Ceclia) DeLaCruz of Sweetwater and Jerry (Elva) DeLaCruz of Sweetwater; sisters Ofelia Guzman (Manel) of Sweetwater and Rita Hernandez (Jessie) of Sweetwater; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous extended family and dear friends.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Jose DeLaCruz Sr, and Manuela Villa Delacruz; brother Frank DeLaCruz; daughter Gina Vasquez; grandson Christopher DelaCruz; son-in-law Randy Rodriguez.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Rodriguez, Roy Valadez, Nick Moss, Josh Guzman, Tim Moss
Lee Collier, Anthony DeLaCruz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Valadez and Sammy Argumaniz.
