Joyce Marie Homan, 80, lifelong Abilene resident, died Monday, December 03, 2007 in Abilene. Viewing and visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South. Her funeral service with the Reverend Bob Lindley officiating will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Joyce was born in Taylor County on March 7, 1927 the daughter of E.O. and Emma Harmon. She was a graduate of Abilene High and worked for Merchant Motor Lines for over 40 years. Joyce was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Trinity Baptist Church. She loved sewing, fishing, gardening, watching the hummingbirds and most of all family.

Survivors include two sons, Wayland Huey of Bluff Dale, Gregory Homan and wife Yolanda of Abilene; two brothers, Leroy Harmon of Fredericksburg, Edwin Harmon of Dallas; one sister, Francis Walsh of Aledo; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Her husband, J.L. Homan preceded her in death in June of 2003.
