Julie Luella Edington

Julie "Luella" Edington passed away peacefully, at the age of 78, in Abilene, Texas on November 10, 2022. Luella was born in Abilene on April 4, 1944, to Ella and Louie Herring. She graduated from Cooper High School and earned a bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the University of Texas. She later taught school and modeled in Houston, Texas from 1966 to 1981. Luella was also a wonderful seamstress and after her daughter Ashley was born, Luella made most of her clothing. Luella also had a love for animals and one little Yorkie named Winston loved the attention he received from her.
Luella was predeceased by her parents, Ella and Louie Herring, one brother, Dugger Herring and one sister, Janyce Outland.
Luella is survived by her daughter, Ashley Edington-Birdett and husband Gary Birdett; grandchildren, Blaine Walker and wife Brittany; Morgan Kade and husband Bradley; Neil Birdett and wife Rachel, and Joe Birdett; three great grandchildren, Rhen Walker, Riggin Riley, and Raelynn Riley
On Tuesday, November 15 there will be a visitation at 1:00 at Elmwood Funeral Home in Abilene, Texas followed by a graveside service at 2:00 pm in the Garden of Meditation.
Luella was a special lady and even though she will be greatly missed by many, we also rejoice in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones in her Heavenly Home.
