Jurald G. Watts, 88, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South in Abilene.
Jurald was born on August 27, 1921 in Rising Star the son of Marion Forrest Watts and Clara Etta Dill Watts. He graduated from Baird High School and attended HardinSimmons University. Jurald served his country in the United States Navy during WWII where he fought and was wounded in the Battle of the Coral Sea aboard the USS Chester in May of 1942. After an Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Jurald worked in Civil Service as a communications repairman for many years. He was a 32 degree Mason, a York Rite member and a member of Shriners International. He enjoyed playing dominoes and telling old war stories.
Survivors include three brothers, Ike Watts and wife Emma of Cisco, George Watts of Blanket and Donald Watts and wife Patricia of Eastland two granddaughters, Alicia and Theresa and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Gayland, Ralph, Forrest, Willard and Edgar Watts, Valmarie Johnson and his daughter, Tommie Evon Robbins.
