Kathryn Ekberg

Kathy Sis Batis Ekberg was born September 14, 1945 in Abilene, TX to Joe and Louise Batis. She went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2012.
Kathy attended Abilene High and graduated from Glen and Lotties School of Beauty in 1964. Kathy married Keith Ekberg on June 22, 1965 and had one child. Kathy was injured in a serious car accident in 1979 and was wheelchair bound. She lived independently in her own home for 34 years. She never lost her sense of humor, her will to live and enjoyed aggravating everyone that loved her. She was a joy to everyone and was admired by all. Kathy will be truly missed, but finally gets to go and walk with the Lord.
She is survived by her son, Keith Ekberg Jr. and wife Shannon one sister, Ramona and husband Bob Williams of Costa Rica, three grandchildren, Alyssa, Shana, and Ryan Elizabeth four great grandchildren one niece, Nikki one nephew, Kevin.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Batis her father, Joe Batis, and her husband, Keith Ekberg Sr.
Graveside funeral service will be 11 AM, Friday, July 13, 2012 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation for family and friends will be prior to the service beginning at 10 AM at Elmwood Funeral Home.
