Kathy Davis was born on August 23, 1960 in Chatom, Alabama to the late Percy and Ruby Davis. She was preceded in death by one sister, and two brothers.
Kathy accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Rev. E.V. Barnes of St. Union Baptist Church in Leroy, Alabama. She completed her education at Leroy High School, where she was an all American athlete. She played basketball, ran track, played volleyball and softball. Kathy met and married Curtis Johnson and to that union her one and only daughter was born, Maranda Johnson. After relocating to Abilene, Texas Kathy held numerous jobs until she received her nursing license in 1993. Kathy was a naturally caring and loving person so she strived in her career as a nurse and was well respected and loved by her colleagues for many years.
In 1995 Kathy joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she was mission II devotion leader, senior choir president, and she helped to form the praise and worship ministry until her health failed. Kathy was an authentic woman who loved to serve and sing for the Lord! She made it very clear that she loved her entire church family, especially her pastor.
