Kayla Bunting

Makayla Renee Bunting, known as Kayla, left this world for a better place on Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was a loving, devoted mother best remembered for being outspoken, funny, and bighearted.

Kayla came into this world twenty two years ago while her family was stationed at Loring AFB, ME. She graduated from Cooper High School in 2010 and continued her education at Cisco College obtaining an Associate in Applied Science degree in 2013.

While growing up, and with much parent involvement, Kayla actively participated in youth sports. Her favorite sport was softball. Horseback riding was also of great interest to her. She became interested in this sport after receiving lessons from a family friend who owns a local ranch. As a young adult, she loved spending time with friends some of which she knew since childhood. She also enjoyed spending time with family as often as she could. Capturing moments on camera with loved ones and sharing them on social media was one of her favorite hobbies.

Left to cherish the memory of her beautiful soul and spirit are her beloved children, Jaslene Johnson and Kayden Liam Johnson her parents, William J. Bunting, Sr. and Lisa Bunting of Abilene, TX siblings Jennifer husband Fabian Garcia of Pecos Corina Lopez of San Antonio and William J. Bunting, Jr. fiancee Aileen Esmerado of Abilene maternal grandparents Gilbert and Alicia Lopez of San Antonio paternal grandparents Carol Mainor of Columbus, GA and Bill Bunting of Lindall, TX and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Lopez, Jeff Bunting, Jr., Fabian Garcia, Tony Benavidez, Larry Ford, and Cecil Sprawls.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, TX. Viewing will be Monday, June 9, 2014 from 68 p.m at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 U.S. 277 South, Abilene, TX. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Park.
