Keith Edward Tucker, 81, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Keith was born January 25, 1935 in Abilene to Andrew and Lila Vestal Tucker. He married Shirley Raughton November 8, 1954 in Anson, Texas. Keith served eight years in the United States Navy, working on the "big guns". He served during the Korean War, receiving medals for Korean Service, China Service and National Defense, as well as the United Nations and Good Conduct medal. He often shared stories of his travels while in the Navy. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for T.S. Lankford and Sons, and later for Merchants Motor Lines as a forklift operator. He loved his family and enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses and waterskiing. Most of all, he loved the Lord and spending time in prayer.
Keith is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Lanny Keith Tucker and Cory Lee Tucker, both of Abilene; five grandchildren, Caleb Tucker, Colby Tucker, Cory Lee Tucker, Jr., Karisa Tucker and Shelby Tucker; two great-grandchildren, Cayden Harrington and Brynlee Tucker; a brother, Drew Tucker of Norman, Oklahoma; and six sisters, Patsy Luper of Abilene, Lorena Harrison of Abilene, Carolyn Harvey of Houston, Glenda Keys of Irving, Brenda Harrison of Abilene, and Becky Franklin of Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marieta Henry.
