Kelly Ann (Bridges) Allen went to her eternal resting place on October 1, 2024 at the age of 64. Visitation will be October 6, 2024 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be October 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bryan Hicks will officiate.
Kelly was born August 12, 1960 to H.T. (T-Bone) and Doris Bridges. She went to Bowie Elementary, Jefferson Jr. High (where she was a cheerleader) and a 1978 graduate of Cooper High School. She attended Cisco Jr. College where she was a Cisco Wrangler Belle. Kelly was the youngest of the three sisters. Somehow she was always able to go more and get away with a lot more than the older two and not get in trouble for it. You think her being the baby of the bunch she might’ve been a little bit spoiled? Kelly was always active and upbeat. She loved having fun wherever she went. She married and had one son. Her fun and active life was soon invaded by Rheumatoid Arthritis. High powered medicines weren’t enough to stop the invasion of such a dreadful disease. Surgery after surgery didn’t help control its vengeance. She lived with and suffered through as the disease continued to cripple and distort her tiny little body and riddle her with pain for going on 40 years.
Even through all she had to endure Kelly always managed to smile, laugh, tell one of her corny little jokes…. which sometimes I think she thought they were funnier than they really were. She’d laugh her laugh that will always be remembered by anyone whoever heard it. She’s going to be missed by more people that she could ever imagine. She was so loving, caring, giving and just plain precious. We can all feel thankful and blessed to have known and loved her. Kelly couldn’t do much of anything on her own but man-she could work her little crippled fingers on her phone and order TEMU. She was a pro at that! She was probably their best customer. I’m sure they’re gonna feel the loss. The delivery guy will definitely get a break. We know our little Kelly is now in Heaven in the presence of Jesus. He has healed and restored her body and she will never have to suffer any pain again.
She is survived by her husband, David Allen; her son, Hunter Pace; her sisters, Debbie Vallery, and Vickie (Charles) Watson; her sister-in-law, Shirley Allen; two stepsons, Cody Allen, and Casey Allen; four grandsons; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-laws, Joed Vallery, and Jerry Allen.
