Kelsey Roys

Kelsey Jean Roys, 11, went home to heaven on Wednesday, January 23, 2008. Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 2, at the South Side Baptist Church, 1425 South 7th.

Kelsey, known lovingly as PeeWee by her family, was born on October 19, 1996 in Abilene and has braved the fight of cancer for the majority of her life. A fourth grader at Tye Elementary, she never let her illness get in the way of enjoying life. She loved her cats, horses, riding her go cart and was willing to try just about anything. Kelsey attended South Side Baptist Church.

Survivors include her parents, Dale and Sandra Roys of Merkel; her sister, Lisa Roys of Merkel; grandparents, Shirley Roys of Merkel, Ken Black of Merkel, Pat and Don Boyd of Baird; great grandmother, Pauline Black of McKeesport, Pennsylvania; aunts uncles, Jeniffer Randy Salyers of Abilene; Melissa Jason Hummel of Abilene; Benny Rusti Roys of Azle; and her cousins, JJ, Sierra, Coltyn, Rebecca, Jacob, and Anicia.
