Kenneth Wayne Lewis, 49, passed away Friday, December 14, 2012 in Abilene. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South. A memorial service with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 22nd in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
Kenneth was born on May 15, 1963 in San Angelo and graduated from Cooper High School in 1982. He was the equipment manager for the Cooper Cougar football team and attended Sam Houston State University where he received a full scholarship as equipment manager for their football team. Kenneth began working for Mr. Gattis in the 9th grade and worked there for 22 years, earning a reputation for making the best pizza in town. At the time of his death, he was working as a Para Transit Driver for CityLink. Kenneth was the kind of avid sports fan who knew the stats on players from the high school level to the pros, he especially loved football.
Survivors include his wife, Katrina Lewis of Abilene his father, Paul W. Lewis of Abilene his sister, Carol Denise Lewis of Round Rock two brothers, Paul W. Lewis Jr. and wife Janene of Round Rock and John D. Lewis and wife Keri of Abilene and a host of nieces and nephews.
His mother Elsie Mae Lewis preceded him in death.
