Kennith E. Thompson, 87, of Abilene passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 in Abilene.
A memorial service will be held at on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2 PM at the Elmwood Chapel.
Kennith was born to Lloyd and Jewell Thompson on August 30, 1933 in Kress, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War from 1951-1954. He and Nancy Ross were married in Plainview, Texas in 1956. They raised their family on a farm, weaving the traits of honesty, commitment and love into their lives. After retirement, he and Nancy moved to Winters, Texas. Kennith enjoyed making saddles and leather tack. He loved calf roping, his horse Rusty, and being with family.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Thompson and his children Alicia Wyatt and her husband, Terry, of Abilene; David Thompson and his wife, Kim, of Ft. Worth; and Mary Lynn Smith and her husband, Chad, of McPherson, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Thompson Harmel, and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Kennith may be made to the Winters Public Library or the Ministerial Alliance of Winters.
