Another soul is laid to rest, another soldier has done his best. On January 1, 2021. KD Roberts departed to Glory, called home to be with his Heavenly Father.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. The Viewing, Friday, January 8, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery

Kerry “KD” Don Roberts was born July 21, 1958 in Williamson County, Texas to the late Bernice Ware and Willie George Roberts. KD attended school in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Abilene high school in 1977. KD was a very active lifelong resident of Abilene, Texas.
He worked for the city of Abilene Water/Sewer Department for 13 years and he worked at Abilene State School, better know at this time as Abilene State Supported Living Center, for 30 years. In which he retired from both places.
KD coached Pop Warner Football for the “Cowboys” for many, many years and he enjoyed coaching the kids. KD spent several years operating Night Clubs, which he enjoyed as well. He loved to exercise, going to the gym, running and just trying to stay fit. KD enjoy everything related to or dealing with music, whether it be playing it or singing.
KD’s grandchildren were his prides and joy. Mention his grandchildren and you will see a huge smile come to his face. KD was the best spouse, father, “Papa”, brother and friend you could ever have. He touched the lives of many people with his ever so caring ways.
KD was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice Ware and Willie George Roberts, sister Kim Hicks, brother Artis Stinson.
KD leaves to celebrate his life, Longtime Companion Renay Kellum, four children, Ahmad Roberts, Sedrick Roberts, Angela Starks (Kendrick), Tevin Roberts. Six grandchildren, Amyah, KendrIa, Andria, Kingston, Princeton, Zion. Five brothers, Sherman Roberts (Marilyn), Felix Ware (Michelle) of Dallas, Texas Byron Roberts (Rhonda), Willie Roberts (Patricia), Tony Roberts all of Abilene Texas. Five sisters, Linda Taylor, Sonya Roberts, Regina Anderson (Charlie) all of Abilene, Texas, Debra William (John), Gwendolyn Malena of Dallas Texas. And a host of nieces, nephews and extended cousins.
