Ki Kim

Ki Chun Kim, 89, was called home by his Heavenly Father Friday, April 7, 2017. Ki was reunited with his beloved wife exactly 7 years to the day of her passing. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday, April 10, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. His funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in the Garden of Hope at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Ki Chun Kim was born March, 28, 1928, in Chungnam, Korea. He and his wife moved to the United States in 1986 and resided in Abilene, TX since that time. Ki had a strong Christian faith and was a believer in Jesus Christ. He was a member of International Baptist Church where he grew in his faith and enjoyed fellowship with his friends. Ki spent a lot of his time gardening with his wife and fishing. There was no doubt about the love he had for his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His unforgettable smile said it all. He was a beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Ki is preceded in death by his parents, Donam Kim and Walnam Yi; one sister; his wife of many years, Pok T. Kim; and son-in-law, Marvin Jackson.

He is survived by one sister and three brothers of Korea; his daughter, Sun Ye Jackson (Kim) and Sung Chon of Abilene, TX; his son, Bong Ho Kim and wife Segum of Korea; grandchildren, Joy Sierra and husband Dennis of Missouri, Janet Schuessler and husband Patrick of Abilene, Jihae and Unhea Kim of Korea; great grandchildren, William, Kimberly and Amber Sierra of Missouri and Brylee Schuessler of Abilene.

The family would like to thank the staff of Wisteria Place for their many years of service and to Hospice of the Big Country for their care and comfort during his final days.
