Kimberly Willis (Zajac), age 58, of Abilene, Texas passed on Thursday, July 25, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Kim was born in Hammond, Indiana and graduated from Lake Central High School in Saint John, Indiana. She was a devoted family woman; the steady anchor, cherished time with loved ones and was the heart and soul of her family. Her love for her family and home was evident in everything she did, from carefully spaces she created to delicious meals and baked goods she prepared. Kim had a creative flair that extended beyond her professional life as a cosmetologist and confectionary artist to include nickname extraordinaire. A passionate viewer of Food Network and HGTV, she found inspiration in the world around her and shared that with others. Her beautiful voice filled her home, campground, and game nights with impromptu renditions such as "Jimmy had a Nickel", a familiar tradition. A playful spirit with a deep affection of monkeys, she brought laughter and light to every occasion. Her signature ending to conversations, 'Love ya, see ya, bye', perfectly captured her warmth and loving nature. Her family and friends will cherish the memories of her laughter and love.
Kim is survived by her husband, Larry (Lawrence) Willis; daughters, Brittney (John) Beever, April (James) Hughes, and Amy (David) Roberts; step-daughters, Crystal Willis and Sarah Willis and husband James; step-grandchildren, Case Strickland, Elijah Willis, Keller Youngblood, and Archer Curtis; parents, David and Barbara (Kranowski) Zajac; brothers Christopher (Christine) Zajac, and Scott (Kathryn) Zajac; and grandchildren, Mason Beever, Ella Hughes and Palmer Hughes.
The family would like to thank the staff, nurses, and doctor's of Hospice of the Big Country for the love and support they received. They suggest memorial donations to Hospice of the Big Country in Kimberly's honor.
