Lana Plank

Lana Marie Encinas Plank, 42, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in Abilene. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 14th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 13th at the funeral home.

Lana was born on April 30, 1970 in Marquette, Michigan. The daughter of a career Air Force Dad, she lived in various places growing up and has lived in Abilene for the past 17 years. Lana loved her work as a direct care giver at Abilene Hope Haven and worked until she was no long able. Lanas greatest blessings called her Mom, she adored her children and wanted the very best for them she was well known to be a rescuer of both dogs and kids. Throughout her illness, her faith never wavered and she maintained her usual positive outlook on life. Some of her favorite things were chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, yellow sunflowers, daises and roses and crosses.

Survivors include her children, Troy Michael Martin, Ashley Savannah Martin and Kyle James Hunt all of Abilene her parents, Mike and Margarett Encinas of Abilene her brother, Matthew John Encinas of Abilene grandfather, Gilbert John Encinas of Des Moines, Iowa numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends, Anji, Janie and Griff.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations are made to Cancer Services Network, 100 Chestnut Street, Suite 100, Abilene, TX 79602.
