Larry Garrett returned to his Fathers house on April 6, 2012 departing from Baylor Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. Larry, known as Grateful to some, Grandpa, Papaw, Dad, Deacon and Friend to others, was born to Bryant Dale Garrett and Edna Allene Vickers Garrett on July 18, 1948, at home, in Terminal, Texas between Midland and Odessa. Larry is the 8th of 8 children.
Larry will be greatly missed by all whom his life touched, especially his children, Lisa Clower Walter of Monahans, Texas, Larry Garrett Sheri of College Grove, Tennessee, Stacy GarrettHatton of El Dorado, Kansas, and Bryant Garrett Dawn of Abilene, Texas. Larry will be missed also by his grandchildren, Stephanie Chris Gordon, Amanda McKelvey, Taylor Clower, Seth Easton, Sarah Garrett, Jesica Justin Hill, Sam Copple and Max Copple. Also by his great grandchildren, Remington Hill, Gracelynn Hill, Jakob Gordon and Harlequin Stapleton. Larry is survived by a sister, Sandy Gatti Jerry of New Braunfels, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was a member of the Church of the Fullness of God, Abilene, Texas for 18 years, serving faithfully as a Deacon for 5 and Elder for over 10. Larry openly and often professed his love of Christ. He was employed at Oxy Petroleum, through TC Consultants of Odessa, Texas as an oil field consultant after many years of experience in varying aspects of the oil business. Larry spent multiple years in faithful service to the recovery community where he touched countless lives through his tireless effort.
Visitation will be 5 till 7 PM, Monday, March 9, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2012 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel.
