Larry Joe Floyd, 52, passed away on Wednesday, December 05, 2007 at his home.

Larry was born in Huntington, West Virginia on December 12, 1954 to Jimmy Franklin and Wanda Mae Floyd. He married Shannon Jean Brooks on March 17, 1999 in Abilene. A long time resident of Abilene he worked as a mechanic and for several years he owned Floyd Automotive. He had a need for speed so he loved to race cars, especially his Corvettes and Sprint car. Larry was a loving husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, grandpa and friend; he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon Floyd of Abilene; mother, Wanda Smith of Huntington, WV; son, Larry Gene Floyd of Abilene, step-son, Skylar Martin of Abilene; step-daughters, Shayla Byers of Abilene and Sarah Michelle Martin of Austin; brothers, Gary L. Floyd and wife Debbie of Abilene, Jerry Floyd of Snyder and Johnny Wilson and wife Donna of Abilene; two sisters, Nancy Cooper and husband Bill of Huntington, WV and Donna Miller and husband Jack of Abilene; two grandchildren, Braxton Byers of Abilene and Savanna Page Bailey of Austin; brother-in-laws, Johnny Brooks, Travis Brooks and David Brooks; sister-in-laws, Toni Crane and Donna Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
