Lauretta Brock

Lauretta C. Brock, 88, died Monday, June 20, 2016. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3150 Vogel Avenue. Interment will follow at Texas State Veteran's Cemetery.

Lauretta was born March 3, 1928 in Abilene, Texas. She married Rex Brock on February 4, 1947 in Baird, Texas. Although she earned a bachelor's degree, she chose to be home for her children. Family was the most important part of her life.

She enjoyed painting, gardening and travel. She loved everyone and was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. Lauretta never saw the negative in any situation and, when asked, would always say she was having "the most wonderful day".

Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Bruce Brock.

She is survived by her husband, Rex; two children, Sandra Brock of North Carolina and Laura Howell and husband Tom of Anson; grandchildren Rusty, Rachel, Michael, Beau, Dawn, Katie and David; great-grandchildren Ashley, Alexus, Tesseh, Abbie, Jazmyn, Joevanni, Gaite and Paige.
