Ld Walker

LD Larry Walker, 86, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at his home in Abilene. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 17th in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 HWY 277 South with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Elmwood.

LD was born on June 9, 1926 in Coleman, Texas the son of Walter Bailey Walker and Addie Lee Savage Walker. He owned operated Macks Furniture and Pawn later known as Larrys Furniture on Pine Street for over 50 years before moving on to own and manage rental property. LD continued to buy and sell furniture and cars until his death.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy Storey Walker his children, Sharon Walker and husband, Donald Pruitt, Edward Walker and wife Tamara, Pamela Keith and husband, Doyle Sisco all of Abilene grandchildren, Sheresa Acker and husband Chris of Hurst, Carressa Cherry of Keller, Ashley Hernandez and husband Keith of Ludowici, Georgia, Sarah Walker and Daniel Walker both of Abilene three great grandchildren, Patience and Shaun Cherry and Denton Acker one great granddaughter on the way his brothers, James Walker and wife Frances of Big Spring and Sonny Campbell and wife Hazel of Brownwood several nieces and a nephew and longtime family friend, Bob Keith of Abilene.
