Leigh Nostrum

Leigh Robert Norstrum, 75, passed away Friday in Abilene. Graveside funeral service will be 2 PM, Monday, November 25, 2013 at Elmwood Memorial Park with Brother Wes Terry officiating. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM, Monday, prior to the service, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South.
Leigh was born on March 6, 1938 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Carl Alba Norstrum and Gladys Fern Eukel Norstrum. Leigh retired from the U.S. Air Force, TSTC, and Abilene State School. He volunteered at Rose Park Senior Center where he really enjoyed everyone there. Leigh was a member of Masonic Lodge and Broadview Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his mother and father his brother, Kay sisterinlaw and grandparents.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Shirley his beloved dog Amy sister, Karen Jefferies and husband Vern step children, Gwenlyn Burnett, Rhonda Morris and husband Jesse, Ricky Burnett, Ray Burnett and wife Phyllis several grandchildren and great grandchildren several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford St., Abilene, TX 79605 or Texas Oncology Center, 1957 Antilley Rd. Abilene, TX 79606.
