Leonard Albritton Brock, 80, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Abilene. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 10, 2013 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation for family and friends will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Elmwood Funeral Home. Entombment will follow the service at Elmwood Memorial Parks, Mausoleum III.
Leonard was born an identical twin August 23, 1932 in Whigham, GA to Walter and Juanita Brock. He graduated from Whigham High School and shortly after graduation joined the United States Air Force with his twin brother. After 21 years of service to our country he owned and operated Brock Realty in Abilene. He also owned and operated Brock Realty of Fort Worth for several years after relocating. He enjoyed owning and building cars but most of all spending his time serving the community in any way he could.
He was a member and Deacon of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, was on the Board of Realtors where he served as president, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club, serving as President of the TexasOklahoma Region.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Betty two daughters, Terry Groban and husband Jeff, Karen Banks and husband Bart two stepchildren, Doug Wheatley and wife Emma, Leslie Mitchell and husband Scott two grandsons, Ryan Hills, Reed Hills and wife Melissa two step grandchildren, Elizabeth Jowers and Aimee Wheatley sistersinlaw, Donna Brock and Martha Brock several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, his twin Lynwood Brock, Morris Brock, Mosden Brock, Edsel Brock two sisters, Virginia Massey and Doris Arline.
