Leroy Middleton

Leroy Middleton, 87, beloved Father, was called to his eternal resting place on February 12, 2017. He entered this world on January 14, 1930 in Lamesa, TX, born to Thomas and Mary Etta Middleton. He is survived by his daughter Sue Collett of Palestine, TX; daughter Tamera Murphy of Denton, TX; son Ronald Middleton of Hutto, TX; son Randall Middleton of Taylor, TX; brother Johnny Middleton of Lubbock, TX; brother Bobby Rae Middleton of Oregon; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Leroy graduated from Abilene High School in 1947 and attended Abilene Christian College. He served in the United States Army National Guard from 1948 to 1951, when he joined the United States Air Force, actively serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired after 20 years of service from June 1951 through June 1971. He then retired after working 20 years at Hardin-Simmons University.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 US Highway 277 South. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery.
