Carolyn Greer, 85, departed this life for one with the Redeemer on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. She was born on December 23, 1936, in Pecos, TX, to Hubert and Annice Isbell. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1955 and attended Hardin Simmons University for two years.
A private funeral service will be held, and an interment will take place at Elmwood Memorial Park.
On June 12, 1956, Carolyn married the love of her life, John Greer, and they were blessed with 31 years together until he passed away on January 18, 1988. Carolyn and John traveled around the world during John's 23-year military service. However, the world she loved the most was John and her exceptional four children. Throughout Carolyn's life, her family grew as she loved and embraced two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother-in-law, and her husband, John.
Although small in physical stature, Carolyn was a giant in service to the Lord as she ministered to everyone that came in contact with her. She was an active member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church for over 60 years, during which this joyful, selfless and faithful woman of God invested her time and energy in fulfilling the needs of others. Her ministry, guided by a servant's heart, often included comforting others with her homemade Banana cake and Buttermilk pies while supporting their needs as a prayer warrior.
Carolyn was the number one fan of the Texas Rangers Baseball Team, win or lose, and we know God has reserved her a front-row seat.
Carolyn leaves behind a legacy of love and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
