Lila Binkley

June 3, 1916 — February 20, 2011

Mrs. David W. Lila Belle Binkley, 94, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 in Frankston. Her funeral service with the Reverend Bob Ford officiating will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1741 Sayles with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Binkley was born in Emhouse, Texas on June 3, 1916 the daughter of W.H. Williams and Myrtle Elrod Williams. She graduated from High School in Springlake, Texas and attended HardinSimmons University. She married David W. Binkley, a Methodist Minister in 1935 and loyally served as a ministers wife for many years. Throughout their ministry, the Binkleys lived in Baird, Anson, Memphis, Abilene, Seymour and Slaton. After retiring in 1969, they returned to Abilene where they lived for many years with the exception of a brief period when they lived in Tyler.

Survivors include two sons, John Hadley Binkley and David Wayne Binkley four grandchildren, Sherri Binkley Pitts, John David Binkley, Shawn Wesley Binkley, and John Mead great grandchildren, Jennifer Pitts Willhelm, Jacob Pitts, J.J. Fafrak, Dalton Binkley, Brandon Elmore, Wesley Binkley and Christopher Binkley.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Memorial donations are suggested to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605.
