Lillian Ellen Byrn, 89, went to be with her eternal Father on Wednesday, July 30, 2008.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 S. Funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Reid officiating; interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Lillian was born in Des Moines, Iowa on January 10, 1919. She was a hairdresser owning her own business in Florida for 25 years. She had one son Charles D. Byrn, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2001. She moved to Abilene in 2001 to live near her grandson. She enjoyed needlepoint, cats, and her great-grandson, Noah. In 2006 she moved to The Oaks at Radford Hills where she enjoyed the residents and all those that cared for her.
She is survived by a grandson, Charles Byrn and wife, Anna of Abilene; granddaughter, Kimberlee Byrn of Orlando, Fl; great-grandson, Noah Byrn; and two step great-grandchildren, Robert and Aaron Byrn.
Many of Lillians family members have been a part of the United States military serving from WWII to the Persian Gulf War. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to www.bigcountrysupportthetroops.org or any military organization of choice.
