Linda Edwards

Linda Ann (Rasco) Edwards, 73, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, in Abilene, Texas. She was born March, 2, 1949, in Stamford, Texas, to the late Wanda Fay (Watts) and J.D. Rasco. She married Alvin "Lynn" Edwards on March 3, 1969, also of Stamford, and they spent the first decade of their marriage living in various states (including Hawaii) while Lynn served in the Navy. They returned in 1979 to Abilene where they raised their two sons.
Linda is survived by her husband, Lynn Edwards (Abilene); sons Quint Edwards (Abilene) and Donnie Edwards and wife Karin (Buda, TX); grandchildren Clay, Ethan, Mina (Abilene) and Leighton Edwards (Buda); great-grandchildren Aiden and Cayson Edwards (Abilene); and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Lisa Ford, and granddaughter Emmalin Edwards.
Linda worked in healthcare for more than 30 years and gained extensive knowledge and experience, even assisting on a medical book published in 1985. She loved taking trips to Las Vegas and had the magic touch when it came to the poker machines, winning more than one large jackpot. Linda had two biological sons, but she had many "bonus" sons who still consider her their second mom. She had the reputation of asking a multitude of questions which, although often embarrassing to her sons, usually garnered all the information she desired! Some of her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she loved her role as their "Nandy."
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park (Abilene), with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM Burial will follow immediately.
