Linda Kay Ables, 73, left this world on Friday, September 30, 2016. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Linda was born September 25, 1943 in Abilene, Texas to Luther and Dolly Beasley Whittenberg. She married James Ables January 2, 1959 in Stephenville, Texas. The couple enjoyed 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in February of this year. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Linda was a Mary Kay consultant for almost 30 years. She enjoyed crafting, including sewing, cross stitching and ceramics. She won ribbons at the local fair for her cross stitch work, including best of show.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, and a sister, Joyce Lee Whittenberg.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula Sutcliffe and husband Donald of Abilene, and Jamie Fahntrapp and husband Jeff of Eula; four grandchildren, Vanessa Brooks and husband Roy of Abilene, Scott Sutcliffe of Abilene and Jennifer and Jason Fahntrapp of Eula; three great-grandchildren, Christian Burnett, Mason Brooks and J. Kayden Fahntrapp.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hendrick Hospice.
