Linda Boyd

Linda I Boyd, 76, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Visitation will be, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Linda was born in Childress, Texas on August 21, 1940 to Thomas Mills and Nellie Irene (Swafford) Mills. The family moved to Abilene in 1945, where Linda attended school. In 1958, she married Bruce Boyd. Three sons were born to the marriage.

After living and working in Lubbock, El Paso and Houston, the family moved to Abilene where Linda was busy with work and raising her family. Linda enjoyed bowling and was very talented at it and received several awards. She loved working in her yard, tending to her flowers, as well as making her backyard a pleasant place to relax. Linda retired from NTS in 2002.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Bert Mills. She is survived by 3 sons, Bruce Boyd Jr. of Carrollton, John Kevin Boyd of Abilene, Thomas Christopher Boyd and wife Jodi of Bloomington, Illinois, Sisters, Wanda Davis of Abilene and Cherry (Marvin) Rumbaugh of Lake Coleman; Linda (Nama) also leaves seven grandchildren, Tara; Jacob, Brendan; Chance, Chad; Hannah, Kaylee; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank Hendrick Hospice for the loving care they gave Linda in her final days. We would like to extend a special thank you to Nurses Gerardo, Gloria, and Donna. We will be eternally grateful for their care of Mom. Memorial contributions may be made to Hendrick Hospice in Linda's Honor.
