Linda Ann Nuckols, 79, went to join her Lord in Heaven on March 17, 2024 in Abilene, Texas. A visitation will be 6:00 PM -8:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024 in the Elmwood Funeral Home's Family Center, 5750 Hwy 277 south. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Friday, March 22, 2024 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Linda Nuckols, born Linda Jerden on November 22, 1944, to Buster and Emma Jerden in Abilene, Texas. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose life touched many. Linda's journey began in Abilene, where she attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School in 1963.
In her professional life, Linda dedicated herself to a career with WTU, where she served diligently from 1977 until her well-deserved retirement in 2000. Her commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on her colleagues and the organization.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda had a passion for life's simple joys. She adored cats and birds, finding solace and companionship in their presence. She also cherished moments spent dining out, enjoying delicious meals and creating cherished memories with loved ones. Among her favorite pastimes was watching the show "Downton Abbey," where she found both entertainment and inspiration.
Linda was a woman of deep faith and loved her family above all else. Her devotion to her Christian beliefs were unwavering, providing her with strength and guidance throughout her life. Her family held a special place in her heart, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being.
She is preceded in death by parents; Buster and Emma Jerden; three sisters, Laverne Rhodes, Barbara McCown, and Susie Jerden.
Linda is survived by her children, Greg Nuckols, and Tabitha Hughes and husband Will; sisters, Janet Brooks, and Karon Wells and husband Donnie; her grandchildren, Brittany Ann Jackson and husband Tyler, Brian Austin Hughes, and Brendon Joel Hughes; great granddaughter, Ella Ann Jackson; her nieces and nephews, Randy Brooks, Sherry Butler, Lance Wells, Natalie Fritsche, Jeff McCown, and Leia Magouirk; and numerous cousins and friends.
