Linda Anne Roberts, 62, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, in Abilene. Her funeral service will be Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 U.S. Highway 277 South. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Linda was born Jan. 8, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Harvey J. and Evelyn Hanson. She graduated from Keller High School in Keller, Texas, in 1965 and attended Abilene Christian University. She was married June 2, 1967, to Garner Lee Roberts by R. L. Roberts Jr. She attended University Church of Christ and Highland Church of Christ in Abilene.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, oftentimes lending her talents and devotion to those in need as their caregiver. Linda loved life; she enjoyed travelling with her husband to visit their children and grandchildren and other U.S. cities. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, reading and taking care of her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who shared in her love.
Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Garner Lee Roberts; three sons, Cary Lee Roberts of Austin, Texas, Mikel Koy Roberts and wife Bj of Double Oak, Texas, and Aaron Lyn Roberts and wife Amy of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, Reese Liza and Kash Conner of Double Oak and Hanna Belle, Ella Genevieve and Clara Grace of Corpus Christi; one brother, Harvey Hanson of Sanger, Texas; two sisters, Jean Willett and Sue Meeks of Fort Worth, Texas; seven nieces and nephews; and many friends, including Boyd Taylor and Sheryl Davis of Dallas, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey J. and Evelyn Hanson.
Memorial gifts may be made to the donors favorite charity or the American Diabetes Association.
