Lois "Curly" Brooks, 92, of Abilene, TX, made his departure on January 22nd, 2024.
Graveside services will be January 29, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Ridge Park Cemetery, Julatka St. Hillsboro, TX 76645.
Lois "Curly" Brooks was born in Leona, TX, on January 30, 1931. He attended Centerville School District. He married Earlene Samuel Harrell in 1958 in Brownfield, TX. The family soon moved to Abilene, TX, where he worked for Gooch Packaging Company before beginning his career with Automation Industries, which later became known as Lockhead Martin. He retired from Lockhead Martin in 1992 as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Curly had a love of fishing, playing dominoes, and repairing automobiles. Curly was a master mechanic. One of our fondest memories of our Dad is watching him prepare homemade breakfast on Saturday mornings.
Lois was preceded in death by his spouse: Earlene Samuels-Harrell, son Lester Roy Brooks, siblings: General Green, Connie Brooks, C.B. Brooks, Pat Brooks. Cleave Brooks Jr, Leview Brooks, Jack Brooks, J.B. Brooks, Hardy Brooks, Joe Lee Brooks, Lilly Mae Brooks, Mary Brooks-Johnson, and his parents Cleave Brooks Sr, and Nannie Bell Norris-Brooks. Also preceding him in death were daughter in law Lucinda "Cindy" Brooks and grandchildren: Lisa Brooks, Kyomi Brooks, Shaidon Word, Austin Barnes, Cartier Barnes, and Aujanae Barnes.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Yvonne "Bunny" Brown, C.V "Jerry" McDaniels, Hoyt "Chuck" Brooks, Mary Brooks, Lois (Billy) Woods, Tonjua Brooks-Pryor, Kendrick (Desiree) Brooks of Abilene, TX. Michael (Adrianne McLarahmore) Brooks of Royal Oaks, MI
Mr. Brooks will be missed by 37 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.
