Lola Pearl Stockton Maxwell, 92, beloved Wife and Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on October 11, 2023. She entered this world on December 29, 1930, the last of ten children belonging to William Stockton and Mary Ann Elizabeth Stockton of Buffalo Gap, Texas. She graduated from Wylie High School in 1948 while there she was named the Growl Queen. She was affectionately known as "The Little Red Hen" because of her small stature and how tirelessly she worked caring for her home, husband, and family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Maxwell, 9 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her son, Dickie Maxwell and wife Jackie of Tuscola, Texas; daughter, Jeannean Pettit of Colleyville, Texas; son, Mike Maxwell and wife Carolyn of Abilene, Texas; and daughter Cathy Reed of Abilene, Texas. She is survived by her grandchildren, Eric Maxwell, Michelle Maxwell, Callie Reed, Courtney Beltran and husband Roland Beltran. She is also survived by her two precious great grandchildren, Jebidiah Maxwell and Dally Beltran.
A service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10:00 am in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South with a graveside following at Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
