Loneta Mason

Loneta E. Mason passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018. A visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday March 5, 2018 at Wylie United Methodist Church, 3430 Antilley Road. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Loneta was born December 11, 1934 to Euel and Pauline Keegan. She started nursing at 14 years old. She worked for a brief time as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell. Loneta soon decided that nursing was her calling and left Southwestern Bell to be a nurse's aide. She attended LVN school in 1976 and worked as a nurse for over 50 years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Mason; two brothers, E.L. Keegan and Wayne Mann; two sisters, Jerrine Mickler and Mamie Williams.

Loneta is survived by her daughter, Karra Patterson Patten and husband Jonathan; her son, Kenneth Dale Patterson; grandchildren, Tanna Burfiend and husband Michael, and Amanda Gomez; five great grandchildren; stepchildren, Geordie Mason and wife Karen, and Mandy Rhodes and husband Don; three step grandchildren; and sister in law, Danna Mann; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the children's ministry at Wylie United Methodist Church or the Avoca United Methodist Youth Group.
