Lorelle Anderson, 89, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 in Abilene. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton, Texas. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South in Abilene.
Lorelle was born in Throckmorton on November 20, 1926. She was the daughter of Lowell and Josephine Abbott Millican. A proud graduate of Throckmorton High School, Lorelle always considered Throckmorton "home". In 1946, she married Clarence "CD" Darvil Anderson of Haskell. He always told people that he married "the prettiest girl in Throckmorton County". They moved from Throckmorton to Woodson then Rule, finally making their home in Abilene in 1956, where she lived until her death. Their deep love and devotion lasted until the end of their lives.
A devoted homemaker, mother, wife, and grandmother, Lorelle also dedicated numerous hours to volunteer work. Her passion was the Abilene Baptist Association where she worked tirelessly to help feed and clothe those in need. Undoubtedly, her welcoming smile and personal attention has touched many in the Abilene area when they needed it the most.
To know Lorelle was to know her dedication to her faith. A life-long Baptist, she spent most of her years as a member of University Baptist Church. Near the end of her life, she and CD were members of First Baptist Church Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Survivors include in her daughter, Michele Schmidt, of Abilene; daughter-in-law Martine Anderson, of Abilene; and grandchildren Amy Patterson and husband Philip, Mickey Anderson, Andy Quinn and wife Holly; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers Billie Mac and Freddie, and her son, Michael B. Anderson Sr.
