Louise Beaird

Gladys Louise Beaird, 71, lifelong Taylor County resident, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at her home in Abilene. Viewing and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 HWY 277 South. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Mrs. Beaird was born on April 12, 1938 in Taylor County and graduated from Merkel High School. She married Charles Beaird on October 14, 1961 in Merkel and attended the First Assembly of God here in Abilene. Louise will best be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother; she was totally devoted to being Maw Maw to her two grandsons and making sure they had everything they needed.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Charles Beaird of Abilene; her son, Steve Beaird and wife Melissa of Abilene; two grandchildren, James and Greg Beaird; her brother, Kermit Newton and wife Gaye of Abilene; and numerous other beloved family and friends.

Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
