Lt. Mclean

Retired Lt. Col Garth Mickey McLean was born on October 20, 1924. He passed away January 4, 2013, at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his wife Sybil Winter McLean, in 2007, after 59 years of marriage.

At the young age of 19, in 1942, he became a banker with the former downtown branch of Citizens National Bank. He remained there until his retirement in 1985. He was called out to serve his country on 2 separate occasions, 1st from 1944 until 1946, for the Army Air Corp, as a pilot and flight instructor for B24s in World War II then he was called upon again from 1951 until 1953, during the Korean War. He continued to serve in the Reserves and later retired as Lt Col in 1966.

There will be a private graveside service upon his request.
