Lucille Higgs Jackson, 91, of Anson passed away Thursday October 9, 2014 in Abilene.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service Tuesday morning at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Parks Memorial Lawn section.

Lucille was born on September 6, 1923 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and is the last of seven children born to the late Dunk Wylie Hines and Belle Gertrude Scott. She was preceded in death her first two husbands, Otho Theron Higgs and Gene Boyd. Lucille worked and retired from Timex in Abilene. After Lucilles retirement from Timex, she was appointed as Tax Assessor Collector for Jones County. Following that term she was elected and served the citizens in Jones County until 1989 when she retired. She had many interest and hobbies including painting, knitting and was very active in church. Lucille was a member of Anson Church of Christ. She was always willing to serve and help people.

Lucille is survived by her husband, Marshall Jackson of Anson 2 daughters, Linda Kaye and husband Fred Smith of Los Angeles, CA, Reba Annette Higgs of Midland son, Dennis Jack Higgs and wife Loretta of St. Charles, MO Marshalls sons, Jerry Jackson and wife Linda, Terry Jackson and wife Melissa, Gary Don Jackson and wife Linda 6 grandchildren 11 great grandchildren 1 greatgreat grandchild.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the New Mexico Christian Childrens Home, 1356 NM 236 Portales, New Mexico 88130.
