Lucille K. Keeney, 97, of Abilene passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 in Abilene.
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 3 at 2 PM at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be held from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service.
Lucille was born on January 20, 1921 in Lynn, Arkansas to the late Joseph Webb and Luda Alma Harris Webb. She displayed her patriotism and hard work ethic as Rosie the Riveter doing her part for the war effort during WWII. Lucille helped build airplanes and munitions and had a strong independent spirit. She also was a beautiful lady inside and out and even competed in a beauty pageant. Lucille worked at the Bridal Gallery in the Metroplex selling wedding dresses. She was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ and loved caring for others. Lucille was dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her children, Phyllis Booth, David Keeney, Gary Keeney, Patti McCaghren and husband David; 8 grandchildren, Missy Richards and husband Chris, Clinton Berry and wife Jana, Mandy Whisenhunt and husband John, Stefanie Keeney, Renee Bissett and husband Michael, Shelby Helm and husband Brian, Brittany Davis and husband Jessie, Haley McCaghren; 10 great grandchildren, Samantha Weir, Drake Berry, Holly Berry, Zane Hachmann, Lily Helm, Jaxon Helm, Jordyn Helm, Logan Davis, Lincoln Davis, Johannah Bissett .
Lucille was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michele Keeney, brother, Everard Webb and a sister, Midas Webb.
