Madge Bradley Williams, 98 of Abilene, TX, passed away on July 6, 2013. She was born on June 9, 1915 in Burkburnett, Texas. Her mother passed away when she was a young child, and she moved to Comanche, Texas where she was raised by her relatives. Madge moved to Abilene when she was eighteen years old and went to work at Sears. She married John A. Williams on September 10, 1938.
Madge was a woman of strength, perseverance, and deep faith. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1950. Madge loved to cook and had a special way of adding a unique touch to her recipes. She lived independently until the last few weeks of her life.
Madge was predeceased by her husband John, and son, Carl Jack. She is survived by son, Paul Williams, and her grandchildren. Madge is also survived by her special friends, Wanda Sumner, Scott and Lisa Broman, and Larry and Linda Smith. Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 3:30 PM in Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Arrangements are with Elmwood Funeral Home.
