Madry Marr

Madry Jean Marr, age 87 of Abilene, Texas died Friday, July 13, 2018. Mrs. Marr was born August 31, 1930 in Abilene, TX. She was a loving wife, homemaker, and mother to her two boys, Randy W. Marr and Loyd M. Marr. She was an avid walker and loved working in the yard and flower garden. She enjoyed time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She also never missed an appointment to get her hair done.

In her 20's she met her loving husband, JW Marr, on a blind date. They have been happily married for 66 years. Before she was a homemaker and mother, she worked as a switchboard operator.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Keelin Sandefur. Father, Roy Sandefur; two brothers, Roy J. Sandefur, Jr., Murray Sandefur and her son, Randy W. Marr.

She is survived by her husband, JW Marr; her son, Loyd M. Marr (Helen Marr); granddaughter, Carrie Marr (Jon Jones); grandson, Justin Marr (Kimberly Marr); great grandchildren, Emma L. Jones, Kinsley K. Marr, and Colt A. Marr; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Elmwood Memorial Park at 10:00 A.M. Visitation and family fellowship will be Tuesday, July 17, at the Elmwood Funeral Home and Memorial Park located at 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX 79606 from 6 - 8 P.M.
