Manuel Alvarado

Jose Manuel Alvarado, 93, brought to this earth on February 17, 1925 and went to the heavenly gates February 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late Bernabe and Luz Alvarado in Hermleigh, Texas. Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM followed by a prayer service beginning at 7:00 PM, Monday, February 19, 2018 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 hwy 277 south. A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church, 2525 Westview Drive. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Jose married the love of his life, the late Telesfora Molina in 1950. He worked over 30 years for Abilene Furniture Mart until they closed the business. He served in the Army Air Core in WWII. Jose was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church. He was very loved and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; two sons, Armando and Rey; and one son in law, Rene Garcia, Sr.

Jose is survived by his children, Irene Garcia, Maria Molina, Bobby Molina, Richard (Yvonne) Alvarado, Rudy (Tisha) Alvarado, Rachel Miles, and Ruben Alvarado; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.
