Maria Flores

Maria Maldonado Flores, 76, of Abilene, TX, passed away April 20, 2017, at Willow Springs Nursing Home. Visitation will be 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 S, with a funeral service following at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Maria was born October 2, 1940, in Odem, TX; her parents were Miguel and Trinidad Maldonado. She married Corando Flores on September 25, 1955. They raised six children: Adela, Freddy, Ernest, Mike, Corando Jr., and Robert. She spent most of her adult life in Abilene, TX. Maria enjoyed listening to Spanish music and playing BINGO. Her biggest love was her family, and she enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grand-children, and great grand-children.

Maria was proceeded in death by her parents; several siblings, Amelia Bustos, Lucinda Maldonado, and Miguel Maldonado, Jr.; and her beloved son, Freddy.
Maria is survived by her husband, Corando, Sr. of Abilene; daughter; Adela Garcia and husband Victor of Anson; son, Mike Flores and wife Tracey of Keller; son, Corando Flores Jr. of Abilene; son, Robert Flores of Abilene; her grandchildren, Jetta Reyes, Miguel Flores, Jr., Aaron Flores, Eliza Fuentes, Chris Flores, Victor Garcia II, Trinity Flores, Marisa Flores; 14 great grand-children; and siblings, Ysidro Maldonado Sr., Gloria Davila, Juan Maldonado, Lupe Zuniga, Margaret Rodriguez, Lucille Maldonado, Minnie Chase, Yolanda Diaz, Freddy Maldonado, Joanna Woodin, Maryann Martinez, Marylou Bara, Alex Maldonado, and Andrea Maldonado.
