Maria Garza

Maria O. Garza, 94, beloved Wife and Mother, was called to her eternal resting place on June 15, 2016. She entered this world on March 8, 1922 in Boerne, TX, born to Erasto and Carmen Ozuna.

She is preceded in death by her husband Cecil; her son, Jesus; her mother and father; and sisters, Irene, Anita Refugia, Andrea, Oralia; and brother, Horacio.

She is survived by sons, Joe (Diane) of Dayton, TX, Tomas (Juanita) of Abilene, and James (Irma) of Irving; daughters, Olivia Talamantez of Abilene, Lydia Garza of Abilene, Carmen Souza (Austin) of Decatur, Irene Isais (Joe) of Denver, CO, and Annie of Abilene; three granddaughters, she raised as her own, Maria Rogers of Abilene, Sandy Stewart of Clovis, NM and Chelsea Miers (Sam) of Abilene; and a sister, Esther Cortez (Joe) of Illinois.

Visitation will be Friday evening, June 17, 2016 beginning at 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Elmwood Memorial Park.
