Marilyn MO Olson, 61, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Abilene. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Interment will follow at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Rd. Visitation for family and friends will be from 6:00 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home.
Marilyn was born on February 28, 1951, in Abilene, TX to Walter and Elsie Vernon Ammons. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1969. On September 27, of that same year she married David J. Olson. His career in the Air Force took them all over she loved to travel by his side and enjoyed being known as an Air Force wife. They lived in Germany where she was in a special section for Army Corp of Engineers. She worked for the Abilene Reporter News for 21 years, and then later worked as an instructor at Potters of Hickory Street, where she loved her students. She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Walter Ammons.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David J. Olson of Hawley her son, David C. Olson and wife Christy of Portales, NM her two grandsons, the delight of her life, Dallas and Alexander Olson her mother, Elsie Ammons of Abilene sister, Sheila Scott and husband Bill of Merkel, TX brother, Ronald Ammons and wife Susan of Dayton, TX numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
