Martha Moss

Martha Mercer Moss passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, April 6, 2018 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Martha was born December 23, 1956 to Aubrey and Leta Mercer in Lakeland, Florida. She moved to Abilene, Texas when she was 3 years old and grew up a Texan. She attended Taylor Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, Abilene Christian High School, and Abilene High School. Martha worked and was well respected as an LVN for many years. Her favorite nursing job was with Concepts of Care Home Health, where her gift of giving to others and her caring nature enabled her to share her talents. She truly had a heart for caregiving and was a blessing to many by being their caregiver. Her children, grandchildren, and God were her everything and she loved them more than anything. Her friends, sisters, and their children were very dear to her and very much a part of her. Martha was very loved and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Kimberly Hines; Siblings, Eileen Barnes, Clinton Mercer, and Laura Alsdorf; three brother in laws, Milton Dunn, Scott Alsdorf, and Bill Hale.

Martha is survived by her son, Dr. Jason (Toby) Moss and his wife Carrie; seven grandchildren, Jacob Hines, Dante Moss, Tatum Hines, Lexie Hines, Kelsie Hines, Mason Moss, and Jaxon Moss; son in law, Quincy Hines; siblings, Mary Hale, Margaret Dunn, and Loretta Luster; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
