Martha Ann Nigro, 67, was called home by her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2012. Visitation will be 5:00 till 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Funeral will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Midway Cemetery in Hodges, TX.
Martha was born April 6, 1945 in Jones County to Lorene and Kenneth Earl McCoy, Sr. Martha met Tony Nigro while he was stationed at Dyess AFB and married May 2, 1964. She attended Cisco Jr. College and Abilene Christian University. She began working at West Texas Medical Center in 1972 as an Administrative Secretary and continued through the transition into Abilene Regional Medical Center where she retired in 1991.
Martha enjoyed crocheting and sewing for all her grandchildren, watching old movies, and listening to 1940s and 1950s music. Her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were her passion but, most of all, Martha loved the Lord. She was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ.
Martha was a gentle, warmhearted caring and giving lady. She genuinely took pleasure in living a humble and modest life.
She is survived by her husband, Tony daughter, Patricia Dill and husband Mike of Hodges son, Vince Nigro of Abilene former daughterinlaw, Christy Nigro of Abilene five grandchildren, Brooke Gallimore and husband Tim, Brittany Dill, Hannah Nigro, Hailey Nigro, Hayden Nigro four greatgrandchildren, Cole Claterbaugh, Cami Claterbaugh, Averee Gallimore, Tanner Gallimore sister, Elwanda Hoffman brother, Kenneth Earl McCoy, Jr. several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents two sisters, Barbara Boyd Tarpley, Leona Elkins nephew, Jimmy Hoffman brothersinlaw, Jim Hoffman, Freddy Elkins.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Meals on Wheels, 717 North 10th Street, Abilene, TX 79601
