Mary Bailey

Mary Joan Bailey, 88, of Abilene passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 in Abilene.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 11, 2019 at 10 AM at the Cedar Point Cemetery, Brown County, TX.

Joan was born on May 22, 1930 in Rogers, Ark. to the late Cecil C. and Jesse Van Slyke Gibson. She married Robert Lee Bailey and had a son named Robert Lynn Bailey and both have preceded her in death. Joan had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and joke. She also loved walking on the beach, playing bridge, reading and working on puzzles. Joan's true love was her family. They benefited from her example as a loving, independent and kind soul. She will be dearly missed.

Joan is survived by her nephews, Geoff Gibson, Benny Bailey, Roy Bailey; nieces, Patty Lutz, Jackie Gibson, Linda Bailey; sister in-law, Marie Gibson; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
