Mary Lee Roach Casey passed away at her home in Dallas on November 17, 2011. Mary Lee was born June 16, 1916 to John and Pearl Roach in Eldorado, Texas, where she grew up on a ranch in Schleicher County with her two sisters, Mabel Roach McCain and Mildred Roach Galbraith, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1935 and attended Hardin Simmons University. Mary Lee had one daughter, Carol Cook Faust Campbell, who preceded her in death. Mary Lee was also preceded in death by her husbands, John Mickey Cook and Allen Casey, both of Dallas, Texas as well as her dear friend for more than 30 years, Dr. Halcuit Moore of Dallas. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Kipp Faust of La Jolla, California Catherine Faust Zaldatte of Jericho, Vermont and David Faust of Lake Georgetown, Montana great grandchildren Rachael McAdams, Autumn Sannwald, Payne Faust and Elisha Zaldatte nieces and nephews Jonnie Delle Cogdell of Lubbock, Gerald Galbraith, Kay Galbraith Hartgraves and Gary Galbraith, each of Abilene, and a number of great nieces and nephews.
Mary Lees lively personality kept her busy in the Dallas community. She was a longtime member of the Dallas Country Club and the Dallas Garden Club, as well as a member of the Mary K. Craig Class at the Dallas Womans Club. She loved theater and the arts and held season tickets to the Dallas Summer Musicals for more than 50 years. Mary Lee was a member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church and supporter of Childrens Medical Center, where she was a member of the Bradford Society.
Graveside funeral service for Mary Lee will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Elmwood Memorial Park, 5750 Hwy 277 South, under the direction of Elmwood Funeral Home. Family has requested that all memorials be made to Childrens Medical Center Dallas, in her honor.
