Mary Davis

Mary June Parks Davis, 88, passed away on April 5, 2010, at her home in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be 5 till 7 PM on Monday, April, 12, 2010 at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Her graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Elmwood Memorial Park, Garden of Good Shepherd.
June was born on June 26, 1921, in Anson, Texas.

Her parents were Edgar Harvey Parks and Katie Beth Herndon Parks, who ran the family farm in Anson. June was married to Floyd P. Davis in 1940. She had two children, Tom Edd Davis and wife Peggy of New Mexico, and Mary Lou Davis Lee and husband Doug of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents husband 5 brothers, Clay Parks, Guy Parks, John Parks, George Parks, and Jeff Parks as well as her sister, Lena Mae.

She is survived by her two children, Tom Edd Davis and wife Peggy, and Peggys mother, Mary Fromlath of New Mexico, Mary Lou Davis Lee and husband Doug of Florida six grandchildren nine great grandchildren Chris Lee and wife Bianca and their children, Taylor and Niejia Mike Lee Terry Davis and wife Cyrene and their children, Krystal and Brandon Stephen Davis and wife Nicki and their children, Matthew and Michael Kelly Davis Lisa Davis Wright and husband Zack and their children, Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Emma As well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.

She retired several years ago from the Department of Human Services where they celebrated a June Davis Day upon her retirement. June enjoyed travelling and spending time with her dear friend, Doris Peterson, bridge, bingo, fishing, and gardening. She always enjoyed family reunions, long stays in Florida, her pets, and most of all the laughter of children. We all have precious and fun memories of June and her polite and loving nature that brought much joy to all those she knew.
